Mission Statement

To bring young people from diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds together to work as a team, develop new skills and meet educational goals.

The YES! program is designed to deliver constructive educational experiences for students in grades 4-12. The educational aspect of our program is multi-dimensional. It is designed to reinforce concepts learned in school. There is a shift in emphasis from acquiring to applying skills in Mathematics, English, Science, and Media Communication. YES! afterschool programs in computer applications, print journalism, robotics, and broadcast journalism provide young people with creative, hands-on experiences allowing youth of a variety of ages to build skills and confidence.

To help Yes! to Youth develop its Yes! TV initiative.

Broadcast Journalism and Media Communications

The YES! Media Team is the hallmark of the Media Communications program. This is a youth-driven production team that has produced over 300 high-quality programs on both network and cable television, raising awareness for youth interests and concerns. These youth have been recognized nationally for their professionalism and quality work.~~ ESPN Scholastic Sports America has showcased the YES! To Youth Media Team on its nationally syndicated show.

Current Programs:


YESToday: YESToday is a youth newscast highlighting news, arts and entertainment, sports and more from around Maine, and even from other states! YES! TV students will host the show, and act as writers, reporters, editors and technical crew, but media groups from other parts of Maine will submit packages for the show as well. YESToday is currently airing on FOX 23 biweekly on Saturday’s at 12:30pm. Please check the YES! TV schedule for more information.

The Locker Room: The Locker Room is a sports debate show pitting youth and adults against each other on current hot topics in sports. This show is also currently airing on FOX 23 biweekly (alternating with YESToday) on Saturday’s at 12:30pm. Please check the YES! TV schedule for more information.

What YES! Can Do For Organizations:

YES! To Youth can work with many different kinds of organizations in a variety of ways: For non-profits they can: provide valuable publicity for your youth-related issues by producing public service announcements, commercials, and television programs for low cost; extend this publicity with the option to web-stream your program on the YES! to Youth web-site; and act as a useful partner in community initiatives to support youth. For for-profit businesses they can: offer a valuable tax-deductible opportunity for businesses to contribute to a community initiative to support youth; and ensure publicity for your business and its contribution.
