Mission Statement

Connecting children to the farm, forest and the sea

With their rich history, their working farm, their diverse landscape, and access to Casco Bay they are in an ideal setting to promote agriculture and environmental education. Their educators use  farm animals, organic gardens, pastures, saltwater habitats, and forestland to promote environmental literacy & sustainable agriculture.

Purpose of Grant

This is a recoverable grant to help expand the marketing of natural beef through such stores as Hannaford Brothers, A & P, and Bread & Circus in New England. Wolfe's Neck Farm hopes to expand into New York and the mid-Atlantic states.

Additional Information

In addition to raising farm animals, they focus on being a dynamic community resource. They run an education program to teach children about agriculture and marine ecosystems. They also have miles of walking and cross-country skiing trails and a beautiful campground.

Young participants say that some of their favorite activities have been bottle feeding our runt piglets, going on a hay ride to pick pumpkins, canoeing out into Casco Bay to see an osprey nest, and selling tomatoes & corn at the Wolfe's Neck garden stand. They offer a wide variety of programs for many age groups.
