$123,000 (2005) To support ITE's growth and expansion throughout the state of Maine.

ITE Special Projects

Laptops for Literacy Volunteers of America
Begun September, 2004 - projected completion of development June 2005

Intent: 200 Laptops from Maine's State Surplus, Corporate donations, and the Department of Defense are to be refurbished for use in dynamic print-literacy trainings throughout Maine.

Maine Adult Education - High School Completion program via distance learning
Begun January 2005 - completion of development – TBA

Intent: Personal Computer System, loaning system for Adult learners who wish to complete their high school education without GED from home through use of the Internet.

Community Technology Centers
Begun November 2004 - projected completion of development - Dec 2005

Intent: Identify community organizations with the capacity to house and continue to develop community computer labs for literacy programs, public access, at risk-youth technology and mentoring programs, as well as K-12 learning programs that will travel from community to community.
