2005 (April) Site Visit: My Wonderful Dog
Friday, April 29th, a number of our grantees and other guests visited My Wonderful Dog at their brand new site in Portland, Maine.
Director, Elsa Larsen, shared valuable wisdom she'd learned through her growth and expansion. Elsa also described different facets of her organization, including the successful Teen Trained Assistance Dogs - dogs trained for people with disabilities. Elsa and some of her teen trainers gave us a demonstration of this successful program. We also learned about her dog obedience classes, her puppy-raiser family initiative, her seminars led by nationally recognized experts in dog training, her web-based Training Tips column, and her innovative ideas for the organization's future growth.
